On October 26, 2021, the grand opening of the first robotic fulfillment warehouse took place at the logistics park in Paskov, operated by DEXTRUM Fulfillment, a.s..
The ribbon-cutting ceremony was also attended by the Governor of the Moravian-Silesian Region, Prof. Ing. Ivo Vondrák, CSc., who wished the project every success and welcomed the modernization of the logistics sector that this formerly industrial region is undergoing.
More than 200 participants had the opportunity to see what a warehouse worker’s job looks like when they have a team of robots at their disposal. Those who attended were able to try their hand at receiving or shipping B2C parcels for the fulfillment warehouse’s very first client, the operator of the YOURGAME e-shop.
During the ceremonial introduction, CEO Ivan Richtár described the brief history of the DEXTRUM project: “In the extremely short period of several months, we managed to renovate the original hall for industrial metallurgical and engineering production and adapt it to our needs. This created a base for providing modern logistics services to e-shops, but also to all manufacturing and trading companies looking for help in organizing intralogistics for the B2B and, above all, B2C segments.”

Special requirements for the robotic warehouse in Paskov
First, it was necessary to pour a sufficiently high-quality and level new floor that would be suitable for the movement of robots. Next, the space was separated into a separate fire zone, completely new electrical, computer, and Wi-Fi networks were installed, a new heating concept was introduced, and a number of other tasks that every renovation entails were carried out.
How a robotic warehouse works – robots drive to warehouse workers
However, the key task was to build a robotic warehouse operating on an AGV robot platform, which comprehensively controls handling in the warehouse. Robotization changes the entire concept of work, where warehouse workers no longer go to the warehouse, but the warehouse “comes” to them: racks are brought directly to workers in a designated area, which significantly streamlines both receiving and shipping. The entire system is controlled by an advanced WMS system and WES/WCS robot control tools.
From analytics to a fully automated warehouse
The entire solution was supplied and implemented by the KVADOS Group, represented at the grand opening by its CEO Miroslav Hampel. The group’s delivery included both the construction of the electrical and communications network infrastructure and the supply of robots under its own brand, myFABER®. At the same time, the group also supplied a comprehensive warehouse management and robotic system based on the mySTOCK® WMS and myFABER® product platforms. The KVADOS Group took care of the development of the entire solution concept, project documentation, delivery of racking systems, workstations for order picking using pick-to-light elements and laser pointers, and packaging workstations.
“This is the first delivery of such a comprehensive solution, including the supply of robots, that the KVADOS Group has implemented, and it managed to do so in a unique period of three months. This was despite extreme problems in the supply chain and complications with transport from Asia, where we have some of the supplied technologies custom-made,” summarized Miroslav Hampel.
The implementation was supported by members of the Association for Innovation in Logistics (apil.cz) through the supply of solution components. In the future, the warehouse in Paskov will serve, among other things, as a laboratory and a place for testing the latest technologies in practice.
Robotics laboratory and testing of the latest logistics technologies
The Cubiscan 325 device was also presented at the grand opening. It can easily and automatically transfer data on the dimensions and weight of products to the system and take photographs for subsequent efficient logistics management.
The myFABER® AGV Forklift, an automated forklift truck capable of handling Euro pallets weighing up to 2 tons at heights of up to 5 meters, was unveiled in Europe for the first time. Most importantly, it is capable of manipulate and locate them with a tolerance of +/- 20 cm in three directions against their location on the navigation map.
Visitors could also see GS autonomous cleaning machines, which are supplied to the market by BETTAROE Robotics. These robots are capable of autonomous operation, sweeping or mopping large industrial areas without the need for human intervention.
The HAI PICK solution is also unique in Central Europe. It uses robots to handle KLT crates or paper cartons from the manufacturer HAI Robotics, which is represented on the European market by KVADOS Robotics.
All this makes the logistics complex in Paskov the warehouse with the largest number of different types of robots installed in one place, at least in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
