New possibilities for using modern logistics technologies, innovative testing of scenarios with high demands on mobile network quality when deploying intelligent autonomous robots, and the previously complicated expansion of automation to outdoor areas – these are the main advantages of private 5G infrastructure, which we are the first corporate customer in Czechia to use. We use 5G technology for our Showroom, where we present unique automation and robotization solutions in logistics. And after successful trial operation, full-scale operation is now starting in the robotized warehouse in Paskov.

The 5G network is unique not only in terms of the volume of data sent and received, but also in terms of its fundamentally more stable and secure connectivity. These aspects are crucial for the operation of autonomous robots, where it is necessary to ensure that all processes function reliably 24/7. Autonomous intelligent robots depend on a permanent connection to a superior system. They also depend on the speed of received data, but above all on the speed of transmitted data.

A toast to successful cooperation
The 5G network also covers outdoor areas.
“The WiFi network currently in use, which is now standard in logistics, has its limitations. It is simply a technology that was originally and primarily developed for wireless connections between two fixed points. In contrast, 5G infrastructure is primarily designed for mobile use. This allows us to cover not only the entire logistics and production area, but also outdoor areas. High-quality 5G connectivity allows us to easily move warehouse racks or other equipment around the space and also to quickly change scenarios for fully autonomous logistics robots at any time without additional investment. Finally, we no longer have the previous limitations in the transmission of video data from sensors or high-speed cameras to the central server. Another advantage is the fast transmission of movement control instructions back to the robots in real time. This network will be a great benefit not only for commercial warehouses and e-shops, but also for manufacturing companies,” says Miroslav Hampel, CEO of KVADOS GROUP, adding that this network, using Ericsson technology, supports the easy integration of autonomous robots from different manufacturers into a single control system in real time and with high reliability.
